The piece
David Mellor (1930–2009) was one of Britain's great post-war designers, best known for his cutlery. His son Corin Mellor now leads the company from its Round Building factory in Hathersage, in the Peak District. These pinch pots were designed by David Mellor himself, hand-turned from European beech and finished in satin lacquer.
In use
Keep Olsson’s saltbush salt in one and cracked Pep pepper in the other, within reach of the stove or on the table. The two colours make it easy to tell them apart.
