Description
In 2024, the blend is 80% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, from 43-year-old vines in Wilyabrup—some of the oldest and last remaining Pinot Noir vines in Margaret River. The vineyard sits just 3km from the Indian Ocean on gravelly loam soils, and benefits from a gentle south-facing slope rolling down to Willyabrup Brook.
The fruit was hand picked, chilled overnight, and gently whole-bunch pressed before natural settling and wild fermentation in 70% French barriques and 30% clay amphora. Chardonnay and Pinot were fermented and matured separately for 11 months with fortnightly bâtonnage before blending. No fining, just a light filtration. Vegan friendly.
