The 2019 vintage was rated Australia's top rosé and this is another stunner from Alana and Julian Langworthy in the Margaret River. This beautifully aromatic wine is made from Sangiovese and Nebbiolo - which provide a backbone of tannin and acidity.

This is all sorts of Turkish delight, strawberries, cherries and fresh orange perfectly bound together with a crisp acidity and a lovely texture. Dry, savoury and wonderfully fragrant.

About Nocturne

Alana and Julian Langworthy were newly minted winemakers when they met in SA over 15 years ago and set up a small winery project called Nocturne Wines. The intention was to make small quantities of project wines as an adjunct to their day jobs as employed winemakers.

The enlightened Peter Fogarty, owner of WA’s fastest growing wine business (Fogarty Family Wines), raised no objection to Nocturne Wines when he appointed Julian chief winemaker in 2011.

Nocturne has been able to buy the Sheoak Vineyard (former Jimmy Watson–producing vineyard – Harvey River Bridge 2010), with its 4ha of mature cabernet sauvignon vines, but Nocturne wines are still produced in modest quantities.

The flood of show awards will, indeed, be enhanced by the arrival of Nocturne alongside Deep Woods Estate. The SR range explores Margaret River's subregions; the 2019 SR Rosé was awarded Best Rosé in the 2021 Wine Companion.
