Description
An early-release Gamay from Anton van Klopper of Lucy M., made in Basket Range in the Adelaide Hills. Anton is one of the pioneers of Australian natural wine.
Whole bunches are semi-carbonically fermented for a few days, then pressed and aged in ceramic eggs. It is bottled young to capture the vintage at its freshest. Nothing is added, including sulphur.
Light-bodied and juicy. Red cherry, wild strawberry and cranberry, with rose petal, violets and a herbal edge. Crunchy red fruit and bright acidity carry it through.
Pairs well with charcuterie, bloomy cheeses and fresh goat's cheese. Serve chilled and enjoy it young.
750ml · Adelaide Hills, SA · Unfined and unfiltered, so a little sediment is normal.
