Guroo is a project aimed at drawing gaze to Kangaroo Island as a potent place for making fine wines. It’s a project that allows ‘mainland winemakers’ to throw a lens over a vineyard over a three year period and make a great wine from this selected site.

Charlotte Dalton is the inaugural winemaker. The Syrah is made with half whole bunch ferment with natural yeasts no additions except sulphur and unfiltered and unfined.
br>Very savoury perfume, black olive, salt bush, sea spray and ripe plum.

Silky texture, floods the senses with juicy, plummy fruit, spice, pepper, earth and saltiness in the best way.

Such a ‘black’ feeling wine – so dark, though it’s not heavy or over ripe. A refreshing finish.

About Charlotte Dalton

Charlotte is as humble as they come. She is forward-thinking, experimental, optimistic and an extremely talented winemaker. She has produced multi-award-winning wines including her 2017 Love me Love you Shiraz that picked up the trophy for Best Wine of Show, the trophy for Best Single Vineyard Wine of Show and the Best Shiraz of Show in the 2018 Adelaide Hills Saint Martin wine show.

Winner of the 2021 Young Gun of Wine, Winemaker Charlotte Hardy makes wines with an effortless purity.

She certainly knows her craft and she knows shiraz which made her the perfect candidate to explore this variety from Kangaroo Island.
