What it is
La Narval packs fish on the Galician coast in north-west Spain, where tinned seafood is part of daily life. These are small sardines, up to twelve to a tin, preserved in a mild olive oil that softens them and carries their flavour. Rich, gentle and savoury, they are the easiest tin in the cupboard to open on a whim.
How to enjoy
Lay one on a slice of ripe tomato or toast and spoon over oil from the tin, finished with a pinch of Olsson's Sea Salt Flakes. Serve with Bonilla a la Vista crisps and Guindilla Piparra for an easy aperitivo.
