The piece
David Mellor (1930–2009) was one of Britain's great post-war designers, best known for his cutlery. His son Corin Mellor now leads the company from its Round Building factory in Hathersage, in the Peak District. The stand is made from beech to match the Corin Mellor mills.
In use
Stand a large or small mill side by side on it, on the bench or the table, so loose salt and pepper stay off the surface. It does not fit the Extra Large mills.
