The piece
David Mellor (1930–2009) was one of Britain's great post-war designers, best known for his cutlery. His son Corin Mellor now leads the company from its Round Building factory in Hathersage, in the Peak District. He designed this children's cutlery in 1975, and it has been made ever since.
In use
Sized for ages two to ten: the knife is gently rounded, the fork is wide for scooping and the spoon works for any meal. The colours make each piece easy to spot. Pair it with the porcelain children’s set for a christening or first-birthday gift.
