The piece
David Mellor (1930–2009) was one of Britain's great post-war designers, best known for his cutlery. His son Corin Mellor now leads the company from its Round Building factory in Hathersage, in the Peak District. Corin designed the Chelsea range in 2011; the salad servers have its flowing lines and subtly varying thickness, in a satin finish.
In use
Toss and serve a green salad from the jam Sage Medium Bowl or a Jenn Johnston sabi bowl. Boxed, they make a lasting wedding or housewarming gift.
