Description

All the fruit for this year’s wine comes exclusively from the certified organic and biodynamic vineyard planted in 1992 at the northern tip of Margaret River. Wild, untrellised, and surrounded by native bush, it sits just 2.5km from the ocean with a creek running through the vineyard.

Essentially this is a batch of 2 vessels – one amphora and one barrel. The amphora was natural ferment/ full malo whilst the barrel component went through a partial malolactic fermentation. All were stirred fortnightly on lees to build texture and mouthfeel.

About the winemaker

L.A.S. Vino is the personal project of winemaker Nic van Lieshout — a quietly influential figure in Western Australia’s modern wine scene. With a background that spans both the creative and technical sides of winemaking, Nic has become known for a thoughtful, minimal-intervention approach and a strong sense of place: letting site, season and variety do the talking.He works with carefully farmed fruit (often from older vines and distinctive WA sites), keeps things gentle in the cellar, and prioritises balance over polish. The label has a cult following not because it shouts, but because it’s consistent: precise choices, a clear aesthetic, and wines that feel contemporary without chasing trends.
