Revol Caractère Dessert Plate 21cm

Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance designed the Caractère collection around the idea that imperfection carries meaning — that the mark left by a charcoal stroke has a narrative strength that a perfectly uniform line does not. At 21cm, this dessert plate gives that idea a practical and elegant form. The rim of each piece is hand-deglazed by artisans at Revol, removing glaze to reveal the raw black clay beneath and producing an irregular edge that ensures no two plates are identical. White Cumulus has a bright, luminous quality that creates a clean contrast between the white ground and the darkened rim, lending the piece a graphic clarity on the table. Cardamom reads differently — its warm, muted tones are closer to natural spice and raw earth, so the black rim emerges as part of a more tonal composition. Both are made from black clay at Revol's facilities, where the company has worked with ceramic materials since 1768.
