The Caractère collection was designed by French interior architect Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance to mark Revol's 250th anniversary, taking the bold immediacy of a charcoal stroke as its guiding idea. Each bread plate is shaped from black clay and finished by hand — enamel is removed around the rim to expose raw black clay, leaving an irregular edge that makes every piece quietly unique. At 15cm, the plate occupies the table with restraint, functioning beautifully alongside larger Caractère pieces. White Cumulus presents a luminous, bright ground that throws the black rim into sharp relief, while Cardamom offers a warmer, earthier tone where the raw clay sits more softly and organically against the glaze. Revol has been manufacturing porcelain in France since 1768, and the craft behind each piece reflects that long commitment to quality.
