Marli Middleton (nee Russell), co-founder of Mount Mary, was the inspiration behind the label in recognition of her enthusiasm for the family to continue the pursuit of new ideas.

Marli was an adventurous and fun loving woman and it’s this spirit of hers that shines through in these wines.

The combination of 55/20/20/5% grenache/shiraz/mourvèdre/cinsault in this warmer vintage has brought out the best of each to make a harmonious, singularly focused wine.

While there's a plushness to the fruit, and even an intensity of flavour, it's rather restrained, with a lovely medium-bodied palate. Strawberries, sour cherry, florals and baking spice. Fine, grainy tannins and a succulence throughout make this a delicious wine.

About Mount Mary

Mount Mary is a family owned, single vineyard estate located in the heart of the Yarra Valley. The region is in the south-eastern corner of Australia, east of Melbourne in the state of Victoria.

Established in 1971 by John and Marli Middleton, Mount Mary was one of the first vineyards planted in the resurgence of the Yarra Valley as a premium wine producing region.
