About Bondar

Husband and wife Andre Bondar and Selina Kelly began a deliberately unhurried journey in 2009, which culminated in the purchase of the celebrated Rayner Vineyard post-vintage ’13.

Over the last few years since we started this endeavour we have been honoured to be named James Halliday's Best New Winery in his 2017 Australian Wine Companion, to have won multiple trophies at the McLaren Vale Wine Shows we have entered, and to have been named one of the Top 50 Young Guns of Wine in 2018 and 2020.

Bondar Violet Hour is named thus - "This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affections grow again and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen magically along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at ant moment we may see the unicorn." - Bernard DeVoto, "The Hour".
