Larmandier-Bernier Latitude Blanc de Blanc Extra Brut NV
Champagne, France
Larmandier-Bernier is a standard-bearer of Grower Champagne. 2017 base with 40% reserve wine dating back to 2004. Bottles are matured underground for over two years and disgorged manually with low dosage.
Latitude is a 100% Côte des Blancs Chardonnay from vineyards on the southern side of Vertus, the 1er cru vineyard. Instead of steel or concrete, the fermenting juice goes to barrel, giving these wines an unmistakable texture.
Pure and mineral, this exceptional blanc de blanc offers a creamy white mousse and wonderfully fine beading. The nose is fruity with aromas of baked bread whilst the palate, wonderfully textural, offers bright stone-fruits and baked pears. The finish is long and dry with a crisp, mouth watering acidity.
