Burgundy, France
A sensational old vine Pinot from SC Guillard.  2018 in Burgundy was a year of rich and generous fruit and while this wine will age wonderfully, the depth of flavour makes it an enjoyable drop immediately. There is an elegant new oak character and delightful aromatics carried by the deep red and black fruits - think wild strawberry, black cherry, blackberry and plum.  The palate is suitably concentrated with ample extract and structure that has layers of fruit and texture. Very classy effort. The finish long and fragrant.
