Hampshire, England Pasteurised Cow's Milk

Tunworth is a Camembert-style cheese made by Stacey Hedges and Charlotte Spruce in Hampshire and named after the nearby hamlet of Tunworth.  The cutting and ladling of the cheese is done by hand, before being transferred to ripening rooms where they grow their mixed coats of wrinkly Geotrichum and delicate white Penicillium moulds.  Our Tunworth are then transporter to London, where they are matured to perfection by Neal's Yard Dairy.

The result is delicate, papery rind and a classic, creamy paste.  Flavours are deeply vegetal and mushroomy, with a pleasant bitterness on the finish.

This is an outstanding cheese and arguably one of the best Camemberts being made anywhere.  It's certainly one of our cheesemongers' favourite cheeses!
