The world is filled with thousands of amazing varieties of cheese and wine, each with their own distinct personality. Whether it be the delicate, herbaceous, citrus flavours of a Loire Valley goat's cheese to the toothsome nuttiness of an Alpine Beaufort, or the exhilarating acidity of Clare Valley Riesling to the dark berried fruit and dusty tannins of a Margaret River Cabernet.
Cheese and wine have always been perfect partners, not only for the joy of their pairings, but also because they share the ultimate expression of terroir. They are quite simply put, the land preserved.
We offer a guided private cheese and wine tasting for up to 12 guests.
Together we will explore the wonderful world of cheese and wine pairing.
Come and enjoy this unique four course tasting experience at our harbourside wine room, whilst learning about the tastes and terroirs of wine and cheese and how regionality, vintage, seasons and provenance all influence the perfect pairing.
The tasting will be fun and informative with interaction highly encouraged!!
Perfect for celebrating with friends or for rewarding your team.
Sessions run for 90 minutes, 7-8.30pm, with the option of adding on a grazing board and additional wines.
Your Host
The Artisan Cheese Room has been established by husband and wife team, Joanna and Paul Thompson. They are both incredibly passionate about cheese and wine and have created a shop which is true celebration of these unique and utterly wonderful pleasures.
Joanna is a trained chef who having graduated from the acclaimed ‘Leith’s School of Food and Wine’ in London, then began working at ‘The Wolseley’ on Mayfair. Joanna started working with cheese over 10 years ago when she trained and worked at one of the world’s great cheese shops, Neal’s Yard Dairy in London.
Having spent many successful years working in a corporate environment Paul has decided to change careers and is now tremendously excited to be able to combine his fascination with delicious food and great service.
Both Joanna and Paul have studied for their WSET 2 qualification. Together they are proud to present The Artisan Cheese Room. A cheese and wine lovers heaven where quality and taste are combined with a bespoke and considered customer experience.
